GIRLS

“Oh, hello you fucker. Are you kidding me? Where did you go and who am I supposed to talk to if you won’t answer your fucking phone? That anorexic Marnie? Fucking Shoshanna? Or my stalker ex-boyfriend? It’s not like any of them want to talk to me. I don't blame them, because I cut off all my fucking hair! And now you're off somewhere, just living it up, wearing a crop top, you probably got your vagina pierced, you're not answering your phone and you’re forgetting about everyone who’s fucking it up here. So I hope you're having a great time. Love you!”

GIRLS is captivating, uncensored and absolutely brilliant. Five minutes into the first episode of season one, I was hooked. Hooked on the relationships, romantic and not, and the characters who are played by some of the most beautiful and talented woman. These characters have depth and feelings that are captured in a possessive way.

Lena Dunham, the creator, writer, and actress, plays the character of Hannah. Hannah is a self-centered writer, trying to just get by in New York City. Lena's character is my favorite. She is insane,  don't get me wrong, but she is lovable and innovative.

Along with the other characters, Marnie, Shosh, Jessa, Ray, Adam, Elijah, and Charlie. This show is extraordinary. Let it be known, Lena Dunham is my idol, forever and always! <3

Father John Misty

As I am sitting here, in awe of this new album that Father John Misty has just released, I can't help but think about pure, creative artistry. In many cases I listen to a song, and not pay too much attention to the lyrics. I love the way just the music and the soul of someones voice can move me. With Father John Misty, it's different. His lyrics are beautiful.
"First time, you let me stay the night despite your own  rulesYou took off early to go cheat your way through film  schoolYou left a note in your perfect script: "Stay as long  as you want"I haven’t left your bed since"
Joshua Tillman, who is Father John Misty, started off recording albums by the name of J. Tillman. Although I always had loved J. Tillmans work, he didn't. In a reacent NPR interview, he stated that he realized that his artistry of work from his J. Tillman albums was not what he had desired. To become who and what he wanted to be, he started writing and recording under the name of Father John Misty. His lyrics became somewhat comedic. One of his singles from his latest album "I Love You, Honeybear", called Bored in the USA, he calls a comedic ballad, and to stress the humor in it, he added what he thought was a almost a cruel laugh track. There is no question that this album is so much more of the real Joshua Tillman. I love this album. Not only are the lyrics humous and heartfelt, they are raw and they are honest.

me.

Yay! I am so excited to have this new creative outlet. I plan on using this blog as a space to collect all my muses, including my very own designs as I continue the process of finding my own visions and form. It's about darn time!

So, let me introduce myself. My name is Alison Taylor Gold (Allie for short). I am currently calling Flagstaff home and have been for the past 2 and a half years while in school. I am a junior at  Northern Arizona University and am studying Visual Communications with emphases in graphic and interactive design, which I couldn't be more happy about. I feel like I have really found my niche.

There are so many things I love. I am in love with art, design, music, traveling, and breakfast. I could spend hours in goodwill searching for hidden treasures as well as finding a hidden coffee shop to spend my days in, reading and creating. I love the idea of snuggling in bed, listening to my "Deep Dark Indie" playlist or watching Like Crazy for the hundredth time. But most of all, I love my time with my people. The people that I love inspire me. They are my drive for all things in my life.

I am here taking everyday as it comes; never resisting any challenges and making my life amazing. I don't want to survive, I want to live.
